European photojournalism contest calls for self-portraits
Young photographers throughout Europe have until November 1 to submit self-portraits for the third annual “Cantabria +10” photography contest.
“Cantabria + 10,” a reference to the contest’s eleven categories, is seeking entries that show what everyday life is like for young Europeans. Photographs can fall under the following categories: family, environment, art, travel, hobbies, immigration, information technology, folklore, “my room,” avatars (a computer image that represents personality), and Cantabria (only open to residents of Cantabria, Spain).
Within each category, EU€250 (about US$320) will be awarded for first place and EU€80 will be awarded for second place.
The award is sponsored by the government of Cantabria, Eurodesk, and Portal Europeo de Juventud, among others.
Photographers must be under 30 years of age, and be a permanent resident in any European country. Entries should be submitted online at http://www.cantabriaeuropa.org.
